Who we are?

MboaLab is an open and collaborative space located in Yaoundé, Cameroon. MboaLab aims to catalyze sustainable local development and improve people’s living conditions through open science.

But that's not all— MboaLab knows just how crucial access to basic healthcare is. That's why they're all about facilitating and promoting access to basic healthcare services. They want to ensure that everyone in the community has the opportunity to receive the care they need. And guess what? They're leveraging open science and digital technologies to bridge those healthcare gaps and improve overall well-being. It's like they're superheroes in lab coats!

Our Community:

We're a bunch of cool cats from all walks of life—developers, designers, dreamers, and even those who rock mismatched socks. My inputs in this project::

Like any project, we face challenges along the way. Initially, the complexity of the project, and learning about Flutter tools and widgets was quite overwhelming for me. Thanks to the incredible support from my fellow intern Deborah Adeoy and the guidance of my mentor, I found the courage to ask questions and approach each hurdle one step at a time.

What gets me most excited about working on this project is knowing that our efforts contribute to saving lives and improving well-being gives us a sense of purpose. It's like being part of a superhero squad, joined by my incredible intern mate Deborah.

Our journey has been incredible! Each week, our mentor Petra introduces us to new tasks that involve research and more. We take on exciting challenges, explore ideas and conduct thorough research for our project. This experience has helped us grow individually, expanding our knowledge in different areas. Personally, I had no design experience before, but now I can create logos from scratch using Photoshop. Alongside my fellow intern Deborah, we not only design screens but also dive into coding, bringing everything together to make our ideas into a real app. Every day is filled with excitement as we see our ideas turn into reality. Being part of this process feels truly surreal.
